Pediatric Audiology (5 Years and Up) FAQ
Quick answers to the questions we hear most.
What age can children be tested?
We see children aged 5 and up. Testing methods are adapted for each age group to ensure accurate and comfortable results.
What if my child failed their newborn screening?
A failed newborn screening is relatively common and doesn't necessarily mean your child has permanent hearing loss. A follow-up diagnostic assessment gives a clearer picture.
How do I know if my child has hearing loss?
Signs include delayed speech development, frequently asking for things to be repeated, turning up the TV volume, or not responding to their name. If you're concerned, book an assessment — early detection is key.
Do you fit hearing aids for children?
Yes. We fit and programme hearing aids for children of all ages, and provide ongoing support as they grow.
